Congratulations to TNT member organizations participating in federal
programs to increase diversity in nontraditional jobs through
technical assistance to employers and unions. Of a total of sixteen
providers, five TNT member organizations were selected to participate
in the U.S. Department of Labor OATELS Apprenticeship Diversity Outreach project.
Of a total of eleven Women in Apprenticeships and
Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) grants, eight were awarded to TNT member
organizations by the U.S. Department of Labor Women's Bureau.
Other TNT activities include developing a web site
and brochure, responding to numerous requests for information, connecting women
and organizations with tradeswomen's groups in their region, disseminating
public policy and grant opportunity alerts, meeting with other national
organizations to introduce TNT and tradeswomen's issues, and holding
tradeswomen's receptions in six cities -- with a largely volunteer staff!
